Thanks Michael,

As Mick had mentioned, periods of storage where the battery may run down was
a key of why I was thinking of the yellow.  But these, allegedly hold their
charge great, and I don't foresee the car going through many periods of
storage, so the red is what I went with.

Deep cycle batteries are--at least on boats--typically used for "Ship's
Service" loads, such as inverters or DC refrigeration, where batteries are
charged up and then drained down to relatively low states of charge, etc.
Starting batteries have, I believe, more CCA's and are used
for--obviously--starting applications.
