John,
I've had 185/70-R15's on my BJ7 for 21 years (Bidgestones first, now
Yokahomas) and I generally use 30psi front, 28psi rear. Seems to give a
pretty good compromise between ride, handling, and wear. Even though your
car is a bit lighter, 23psi sounds low to me.
