The washers I think Jerry is thinking about are 1/4" fine tapped plate to 
take a 1/4" NF hex head capscrew, coming out from the inside. This plate 
which is roughly 1" x 3" pulls a wide area of the fender flange tight 
against the shroud joint just behind the door.
