I now have a Toyota transmission and have a Smitty kit coming soon. I

Are the centershift and side shift tunnels interchangable (besides the
shift lever location)?

I used a Moss side-shift FG transmission for my BN1 after doing the Toyota
transmission conversion. Just glass up the existing side-hole with a few
layers
of mat and after you've got the transmission and shift lever installed
carefully locate where you want the new hole to be and cut it with a scrolling
saw
and a fine blade. There will be a very slight bulge in the tunnel for the
side-shift patern but you will not notice it under the carpetting. BTW I had
heritage replace my carpettting and they made a custom transmission cover piece
using their 3000 center-shift pattern--it fit great.
