Question: Were TR3 B and TR4 produced at the same time or did the TR4 follow
the TR3 ?

Even earlier for Triumph, the claim of the TR3-B was an all-synchro
    transmission.

"Should the Series III BJ-8 have synchromesh into 1st gear?"

Should it?, well considering the lower priced Triumph went to an all
    synchro
box with the TR4 in '61 it probably should have, but it it didn't.

That's 'cuz the TR3-b used a TR4 engine and tranny.
