Hello all,
A long story, but will keep it short.
I was raised in Central Western Queensland a little town called Longreach,
stripped down and reconditioned my first 4 cylinder engine at age 14 (a 1926
Chev), the year was 1955. I had just begun to gather an interest in 'sporty
cars'.
Left Longreach in 1959 and purchased a 1949 MGTC and then joined the Royal
Australian Air Force.
Wrecked the MG late 59 and then purchased my FIRST Healey, it was a beautiful
BRG BN1 in which I travelled 40K miles(lot of dirt 'goat tracks in those days.
Met a girl who is still my favourite and my wife, but had to sell the 100
because kids came along.
We owned an Austin A30, Borgward Isabella TS (what a car), and since then a
series of GMH Holden products (mostly sedans).
I age retired from the RAAF in 1994 - still had a longing for a Healey, so I
purchased a 'basket case'.
She was originally delivered to Fort Worth, Texas. Details are. BN4-L-S/45267,
Body number 5268. Build date 16 July 1957.
Chassis and Body have been totally rebuilt, she now stands on a BJ8 Front End
and has a 29D 3litre engine complete with HD8 carbies and manifold, Headers
manufactured to fit and I expect to have this LBC back on the road mid 2007.
When complete I intend to provide photos for all to admire.
Love these cars!!!!
Rod Shepherd.
