Hi Ken,
Glad you liked the movie. Bert Munroe was a local hero in the south of New
Zealand (my home territory). I remember he and a buddy bringing his Indian
out to Terratonga race track for a demo or test run once while I was racing
a Hillman Imp!!! He put on quite a show and he must have been at least 70 at
the time. The sound of that bike is something I will always remember. 
"wipe the muck off your pluck" essentially means "Be brave". No problem
there for Bert.

I recently saw the movie World's Fastest Indian which is a great movie
for anyone that read this list.
There was a phrase 'wipe the muck off your pluck" uttered by Anthony
Hopkins. Can someone explain that in North American English please?
