Hello List:

I see that I was not the only one who incorrectly adjusted the front
bearings the old fashion way. I put about 50000 miles on my BJ8 before
taking her (or he, to be politically correct) apart for restoration. In the
near future I will be removing the old bearings and replacing them. Oh my,
it just dawned on me, I bought the new bearings from M***. I hope my tires
do not fall off. Well anyway, in the near future I will take a real close
look at the old bearing for scoring and wear to see exactly if any thing was
really damaged. I will let you know.

Speaking of Moss, I keep reading derogatory comments regarding their parts,
but don't they supply a lot of other supplier we buy parts from? Gee, I do
not want to open Pandora's Box, but it was just a passing thought. I was
recently speaking with a well-known Southern California Healey restorer who
advised me not to buy replacement gears for my transmission from Moss.
After a while, I just can not figure out who to buy parts from, what parts
to be cautious of, and what parts have to be modified to fit my car,
especially when they are advertised as "original" parts.

There I go again, thinking too much. Thanks for listening. Everybody have
a great Memorial Day weekend. For those of you living outside of the U.S.,
go ahead and take Monday off and tell your boss I said you could.
