Hello list. I've notice that whenever I shut down my newly rebuilt engine I
get a little puddle of fuel on the ground from the intake manifold drains. I
was wondering if this is considered normal. It seems like the fuel is being
pulled through the carbs after the engine is shut down and pooling in the
manifold where it eventually drains through the two drain pipes. My carbs
were rebuild by Joe Curto and I have adjusted them carefully before and after
installation. The newly rebuilt engine runs great. Timing and all aspects of
the ignition system are correctly set. The carbs seem to run rich. I can
start without using the choke, but when I do the lifting the piston check, I
get the correct response of a slight rise in rpm and then drop off of rpm. I
tried lowering the float level which may have helped a little but I am still
getting some fuel draining from each drain tube after shutting down. Any
thoughts or suggestions?
