Hi Gary,
Sounds like you have an earlier BJ7 that had different seals which are now NA.
The original seals
were fabricated from sections of straight rubber extrusions that were cut,
shaped and fitted. Probably
too labor intensive to make up the seals like this and they switched over to
the one-piece molded seals for the later BJ7's and
BJ8's. To use the one piece seals, you simply remove the chrome corner piece.

Subject: Problem with new wing vent seals
I am trying to put some new rubber seals in the wing vents on a 63
BJ7....Everything goes together well
until you get to the sharp front corner and there is a chrome piece there that
seems to block the seal from going in.
