Hi
When I purchased the car there were two gearboxes a late "gold seal" side
shift and a centre shift. The centre shift gearbox carries a tag which says
type 29 4 which may mean that it was for a series 29 engine, 4 fwd gears and no
O/D. In addition it is stamped by hand with the Serial Number MP 1041, it is
possible that it came from a late BJ8 according to information received from
Steve Byers although this is not confirmed. Can any one help in trying to trace
the gb origins. Regards David
