I have an SU AUF 301 fuel pump on my car. It's not actually on my car as
it's on my desk here as I type.(Awaiting points and diode). So, the earth
wire that comes from the case and goes to on of the two mounting bolts
appears to have been two wires at one stage. From the old black shrink-on
insulation and crimp/solder connections, I'd say it was original. One wire
is there, doing its job, but the other has been snipped off at the pump end
where it emerges from the insulation. Just for curiosity, did two wires run
into the earth connection on the pump's body? I cannot see why they would,
but am, as ever, prepared to be confounded by some piece of arcane sixties
logic. And if there was a second wire, where did it go?
(I have no fuel pump earthing problems. [So far])
