The GB pound over the last 18 months has probably appreciated against the
USD more than 20%, accounting for a good portion of the price hike if these
parts are sourced from the UK (which most of what Moss gets comes from
there). Work that in with inflation and margins that Moss puts on the
small stuff, and I would say I can account for most of that price hike.
You may not like it but it's like the oil companies. When the price of oil
spikes, the pump prices go up... it doesn't matter that they paid a lower
price for that gas at the pump because the bought the crude a month before
the price went up. Of course the price of oil goes down.... the pump prices
will go down, albeit at a conveniently slower rate than when they hiked the
price.
It's no different with any other business!
