Wrong, wrong, wrong! If Diesel rated oil doesn't have the "cleaning
ability", then how in the world could it possibly disperse and hold so much
soot? Ever wonder why oil run in a diesel is sooo black. Because it holds
soot BETTER!

Don't get me wrong, I am not suggesting that diesel oils are the end all be
all. I am suggesting that the diesel oils not claiming to increase fuel
economy and reduce emissions, have all of the high pressure additives that
we are looking for. They need not necessarily be zinc.

Cheers,
Chris

John et al,

I was advised at a recent British car show that diesel oil should not be
used
in gasoline engines. The gent who I spoke with is a machinist and said
something to the effect that it doesn't have the cleaning properties of the
oils formulated for gasoline engines. I've cc'd him in the event I mistook
his advice.
