The sizes listed are 3/16, 1/4, and 3/8 long. The thread depth in my  
original wheel is 3/16. It appears that would be about the right  
length. The the point is about 3/32 long.
I'd measure an original one, or the overall on the too long ones.

turned all the way down they still protrude from the steering wheel  
hub about 1/8". My solution allows trimming to proper length and adds  
a touch of originality and with the socket portion gone, you cut the  
slot and you can set the screw.
Are the Mcmaster-Carr ones short enough?
