I recently misplaced the nuts for on my fuel gage.  (BJ7, thankfully they
turned up)  I'm not disagreeing with the BA thing since my car is much newer
but is it possible that they are a 6/40?  I think that's what mine are.  The
stud on an original fuel sending unit is 6/40 also.  6/32's are common but
6/40's are hard to come by.
