This is a trite oversimplification at best and pure bullshit at worst.

I own a 'new technology' car (2008 Bullitt with 315HP) and a nearly bone-stock
BJ8, and I drive the hell out of both of
them. I've got over 100K miles on the BJ8 all over the western US, Canada and
Mexico including 115degF in a sand storm
in Death Valley, snow-covered passes and mile after mile of deserted Nevada
desert. I never have any trouble holding
my own with 'new technology' in the Healey--what it lacks in 'technology' can
easily be compensated for with
attentiveness, guile and plain driving skill and training.

Most 'owners of these <newer technology> cars' don't have a clue about
automotive technology--it's an appliance to them.
