Hi All,

I just got my 6-cyl crank back from the machine shop. In the process of
cleaning, etc. they removed the oil restrictors. I believe the restrictors are
necessary to ensure that an equal amount of oil is fed to both oil hole
locations on the rod journals.

I believe I know where they go inside the drilled holes in the crank. My
question is two-fold. How low below the surface of the rod journal should they
be located? My assumption is that as long as they are located between the
internal junction of the smaller drilled hole and the surface of the journal,
that will be okay. Can anyone confirm this?

My big fear is that due to centrifugal force, they work their way to the
surface with resulting destruction of the bearings. My inclination is to locate
them just past the junction of the smaller drilled hole. This would located
them closer to the centerline of the rotating mass of the crankshaft, which
would minimize the centrifugal force on the restrictors.

As always thanks in advance for any help.
