Hello,

I have an original AH 3000 Fuel Tank BMC part number 11B2375 out of the car.
For other reasons I made an accurate CAD drawing of the cross section. Based
on my CAD drawing this is the volume of the tank and filler neck:

                Tank Filler Total
US Gal 13.6 0.3 13.9
Imp. Gal 11.3 0.2 11.5
Liter 51.4 1.0 52.5

It is possible manuals of the day were based on manually calculated
estimates without the benefit of CAD or tanks came from several suppliers
and were not all exactly the same size.

I trust this helps ....Harold

Several questions: Did the tank come with the car as new? Was it purchased
in the UK or US ? in what units was its capacity stated? Is it foam filled?
