I?m not so sure about that. It could wedge into place too.

This little plate has a 10/32 thread in the middle ... looks kind on familiar

I have been sorting through a couple of buckets of fasteners that I have had 
plated and come across this spring.



 

I'm sure I have seen it on a Healey somewhere but cannot remember where. 

It isn't from the hand brake rods, nor the roadster door latch.

It is very stiff, I and only extend it about 1/4" by hand pulling.

The wire diameter is around 1/16".

Any ideas anyone?
