John - If the skin is thick enough use a microstop countersink adjusted so your flat head rivet is flush with the surface - If The skin is too thin countersink the lower part and dimple the skin with dimpling dies in the rivet squeezer - If the finished rivet sticks up use a shaver bit in the microstop - Cherrymax rivets are strong but the flat heads leave a small divot around the stem - Don't know about other brands of high strength flat head pop rivets - Aircraft Tool Supply has all the tools - The most expensive part except for the rivet gun is the squeezer - Ebay is good for that - You need number drills for the holes that are .002" or .003" over size - There are a few little tricks but riveting is fun . |
