speed ratings are as follows:
H = 130-210 mph      
V = 149-240 mph
Z = 149-above 240
W = 168-270 mph
Y = 186-300 mph
This information is quoted directly from the Bridgestone Firestone current 
wholesale catalog. God only knows that your local sponsoring authority probably 
thinks it  knows better.
