Enrique,
This is normal.  When the pistons get to the ends of their travel, the crank 
moves several degrees with little to no movement from the pistons, and 
therefore less drag from the rings against the bores.  When the pistons are 
in the middle of their travel any movement by the crank results in a movement 
in the pistons, and more friction.  If you have not yet put the head on watch 
the pistons while you turn the crank, you will find that near TDC the piston 
movement is less and it is way easier to move the crank.
