Hi Tab,
Depressing the clutch puts some stress to the engine in some way. This is
very normal for the MGB and propably for many other MG's using the B series
engine.
So it cannot be reduced or taken away.
Best to start is to have the gear not engaged and do not press the clutch
pedal.
Nothing to worry about though.
