I've had the 5 watt in my dash for a couple of months, so no experience on
longevity, but they sure are bright.  It's like a new found courtesy light
in addition to seeing the guage much better.  The best application for them
,IMO, is the brake/tail lights.  The brighter we can make them, the less
likely some SUV will run over us.
