You guys have made some very valid points. Organizing these events is a
full time job that takes at least a year. Anyone who has organized a bake
sale or a spaghetti dinner at church or school knows the problems. Multiply
that a few hundred fold and I'm sure we haven't cracked the tip of the
iceberg.

I have yet to attend a Register event but they have all been reported in the
Driver. Each and everyone appears to be professional, polished, well run
and organized and most of all fun.

Any club that is willing to host such an event has my deepest admiration.
If there are NAMGBR or other club members out there that feel they can do
better than I challenge them to try.

As convention coordinators for NAMGBR, we have been surprised by the
recent postings regarding the Register. We are well aware of the effort
that has been made by the Register to locate its Annual Conventions
throughout the geographical range of the continent. The limitation on this
is finding a local club willing to make the effort to host an annual
convention. This is more than a Sunday car show or a weekend event. It is
usually a monumental undertaking for even the most organized of clubs. So
the Register warmly welcomes application from any local affiliate to host a
convention. In point of fact, no chapter that has ever made such a request
has been turned down! Any chapter that has sent a representative to an
Annual General Meeting or has read the minutes of those meetings should be
aware that they have this opportunity. The same applies to hosting NAMGBR
Regional Events and the AGM. So perhaps something positive will come out
of this thread if more affiliated clubs will consider accepting
responsibility for these events.

If your local club has such interest, we can be reached at
