Big Bend MGs of Tallahassee did a truly outstanding job this last weekend
with the event. The weather cooperated with the upper 70s to low 80s during
the day and 60s at night.
Friday saw most of the cars arrive, and what a beautiful site that parking
lot was, MGs from end to end. The barbecue Friday evening was outstanding
and there was enough left over to provide lunch on Saturday to all that
wanted to take part. Saturday morning about 60 - 70 cars moved onto the
grass area for the show. There were MGTDs, MGTFs, MGAs, Chrome Bumper MGBs,
Rubber Bumper MGBs, MGBGTs, Variants (V8, Modified, etc), and one very
beautiful MG 1100. Following the judging a procession of about 27 cars left
for a drive through Tallahassee's canopy roads with a stop at an old time
country store. The banquet Saturday night featured fine food and a lot of
fun. Almost everyone went away with either a door prize or a raffle prize.
This was followed by a nog and natter at the hospitality room until the wee
hours. Sunday morning we had to depart back home after coffee and pastries
at the hospitality room. It was an outstanding weekend.
It was evident that a lot of work went into organizing the weekend and Big
Bend did an outstanding job. Too everyone that missed it, if Big Bend MGs
hosts another event, be sure to mark it on your calendar. It will be a must
attend event. The Big Bend webmaster is taking a well deserved break this
