Well sure that's fine. You're NOT trying to seal in
brake fluid, just stopping air from being sucked 
past the threads when it's partially loosened.
This IS NOT the same as trying to seal the 
pipe from normal fluid leaks at the connectors.

In my new Mity-Vac from Moss, it recommends using Teflon tape on the bleed 
screw threads to prevent air leaking back into the system during bleeding, so 
apparently that company thinks it's OK>
