Stop the calls, I think we have a winner, folks! I guess the Egg qualifying 
depends upon one's view's on abortion, but the Bird certainly beats the
Bearcat. It does revive the question over which came first - the chicken or
the egg. My money's on the rooster. Somebody had to fertilize it.

If you won't accept the Egg (1895, Switzerland), how about the Bird
(1897), which ought to get double score, being built in Buffalo!

If you are going to be picky about 'animal,' then the Lynx (1898, UK).
The first aquatic animal I found was the Dolphin (1906, UK). The first
use of Falcon was in 1914, a cyclecar made in Ohio.
