In days past I have taken the wiper arms to a local hardware store - the
kind that has bins of screws & bolts and sells nails by the pound when you
shovel them onto a scale - and found stronger springs to fit inside the
wiper arms. It takes a bit of fiddling to get then hooked in place - small
locking needle-nosed pliers came in handy, IIRC.
