That's nice!
When I bought my '71 BGT in 1990, I was working with a guy, who previously 
worked at the Dutch spare parts warehouse of British Leyland.

>From him I got some nice stickers MGB 1977 SCCA champion and yes an 
"original" Kienzle clock.
I always thought this was not really original as Kienzle is German made, 
though looking to your story a real genuine optional part.

Is there any picture showing this console and clock?

A  bad story from the same guy:
BL was cleaning out the warehouse in the late nineteen eighties from old not 
sold parts, so these were scrapped.
Amongst these were full leather seat kits.
Scrapping was done by really cutting the leather apart. What a waiste!
