I observed the oil pressure drop and was able to get off the road and
suffered no damage to my engine.  The loss of pressure was due to the line
that feeds the gauge gave way and the instant I saw the pressure drop I hit
the key and coasted to the side of the road.  This happened about 5 years
ago and I have been driving the MGA ever since.
