Actually, Morgans are strong as I can personally relate. Some years ago, I had
rented a
Morgan in London to drive around the British Isles during an extended vacation.
I visited the factory, toured England and was over in Wales. The roads there
are quite
interesting in that there are large "dips" where the road ahead looks clear
"but it
isn't" as a car just ahead can "hide" in the dip.
I pulled out to pass a truck in front of me and just as I was even with the
truck, up
out of a dip appeared a Rover 2000 coming right at me. I hit the brakes hard
and so did
the Rover but we hit "head on" at speed.
The Morgan actually "broke" in the middle, which absorbed most of the energy,
the
steering wheel was pushed back to my chest but not any further. The Morgan was
"hurt
real bad" but, I "walked away" with minor enjuries only. The only thing that
saved my
life was the strength of the Morgan and the design of the chassis which allowed
the
energy to be absorbed and not transmitted to my body.
Strenght is a relative term, but for me, I love the Morgan. God bless the
designers and
builders of these magnificient cars. I just know if I had been in a "regular
car", I
probably would not be here sending emails.
