TOM - I think the 60s 4/4s weigh-in around 1500 pounds, even less with any
alloy body bits. (But check, some groups have minimum weight limits!) There
is an extension piece which bolts to the top of the standard 4 speed Ford
box and gives you a "normal" stick which, as the Brits say, "falls readily
to hand". I've seen them with a Morgan logo on top or the word Wooler (sp?)
on top. BUT . . . .as weird as the "push/pull" shifter looks, it works
perfectly well and should give you no trouble on road or track. You get
used to it very quickly and its use and speed of use becomes second nature.
And it IS an interesting conversation piece when folks look into your car!
I've been using the push/pull in our '61 4/4 for some 27 years now with no
problem. I have a remote Morgan-marked extension but I have never put it
on. The piece is rare as rocking horse droppings but they are out there if
you must have one. Don Greimel uses the push/pull in his 4/4 racer, I'm
sure he can give you his opinion of it under racing conditions.

Hope we run into you (not literally of course!) sometime at Road America.
