Craig,
        Yes you have it figured out. The end goes through the hole for the
cotter key on the accelerator rod. I have a cable stop (barrel nut) on
it but looping it around might work too. I also squeezed a small cotter
pin in the hole because past experience has taught me not to trust those
barrel nuts too far.
