I've always assumed that without the insulators the carbs would get hot
enough in hot weather to boil the gas in the float bowls . This is
definately a problem with Amal carbs on British motorcycles that I'm
familiar with. Makes them very hard to restart when hot. Bad news when you
only have a kick-starter. Boiling may not be a problem for us living in
western Washington or Oregon but I'll bet those in Arizona or Texas would
have that problem. How 'bout it? Any of you southerners have experience
running without heat insulators?
