Take the motor out, take the little odd-shaped plate of the side opposite
the arm. Then, hook it up to the vacuum line from under the hood where you
can work on it without spraining your neck, (ask me how I know). Turn it on
with the engine running. While it is attempting to run, squirt 3 in 1 oil
or other light oil like sewing machine oil into the area. It should suck
the oil in and lubricate the leather seal on the paddle and also lube the
little reversing "flipper" that is under the disk that you see with the
cover off.
