[oletrucks] Single Action Shocks

My '48 Chevy has the single action lever style shocks and they are low on 
fluid.  From looking at the service manual, it looks like these can be 
refilled and the valve can be replaced.  My question is this - what do I 
refill them with and are replacement valves still available?
