The 84 camaro will make a good donor car, but you can't use the front
clip, as someone suggested...the redesign in 1982 went to front struts,
which don't adapt to old cars worth a darn.  Measure the rearend width
compared to the original truck rearned before you get too far along...it
might work if you use Camaro wheels, which have a lot of negative
offset.

Look in the street rod magazines (specifically Street Rodder) for ads
for 4 bar setups...there are a bunch of different ones out there.

You might consider going with a Mustang II front suspension...it would
probably be the best in the long run, all things considered.  But,
adding disk brakes to the stock axle will probably work ok if you don't
mind keeping the choppy ride that front leaf springs give you, and it
would save you a bunch of $$$ for now.  If you don't like it, you could
probably sell the kit to someone on the list at a later date, when you
can afford a new front suspension  :)
