Here's where you're wrong -- Christmas of 1997 you could by one -- no joke!  
But they were 1/25th the size of the real truck sitting in the middle of the 
store!  ERTL made a 1/25th diecast model of them as a Christmas promotion (box 
states it's an "Adult Collectible").  I bought mine two days before Christmas 
at a discounted price -- $12.99 (they were originally marked at $24.99).

This is the company's logo -- some of the clothing even has the truck on it 
(mostly children's clothing).  First time I went to an Old Navy a few years ago 
I was shocked to see these classic and hard to find trucks sitting in the 
middle of the store.  And Eric's right, all Old Navy stores have them (just 
think, where did they find that many?).  And all of the new stores will be 
getting them too...
