See, I learned something new, again.

The 55-2nd series trucks (Task Force models) had the 78" bed on the
short beds, and 90" on long bed 1/2 and 3/4 tons. The 1/2 ton short bed
was model 3100 (VIN code H), 1/2 ton long bed was model 3200 (VIN code
M), and 3/4 ton was model 3600 (VIN code J).

The 57-59 trucks had the 78" bed on short beds, but a 98" bed on 1/2 and
3/4 ton long beds. Models were 3100 for short bed 1/2 ton (VIN code
3A), 3200 for long bed 1/2 ton (VIN code 3B) and 3600 for 3/4 ton (VIN
code 3E).

I don't know about 1956 models...I have the Chevy Resto info packs for
55, 57, and 59.

Hope this clarifies something for someone :)
