    I have no info on the later rearends.  But,  I'm putting a posi from a
'79 TA in my '55 1st.  Here's what I found.  The spring perches on both the
'55 1st and '79 TA are 45"ceneter to center.  The perches on the posi are 2
3/4" wide and the springs on the '55 1st are 1 3/4" wide.  As close as i
could measure,  the distance from the outside of the backing plates is
actually 1" narrower on the TA than the '55 1st.
