According to the Chevrolet "Gold Album of Truck Values" for 1955 (2nd) the
engine colors are as follows:

Thriftmaster - (123 HP 235) 3000-4000 Series trucks ..... Gray
Loadmaster - (with valve rotators) 6000 Series and Forward Control with
updraft carb. .... Green
Jobmaster - (140 HP - 261) optional on 6000 series .... Yellow
Trademaster (145 HP V8) ......  Black
Taskmaster (145 HP V8, XRC steel valves, Positive crankcase ventilation)
.....  Yellowish Green

At least that is the colors the are in the pictures in the dealers "Gold
Album"
