Joe,

I would be VERY interested myself in the gentleman's F*#@ drag link P.S.
conversion. Please drop me a line when you find the time. (Merry X-Mas!)

I stopped by a custom car builders shop a month ago and took a look at an AD
he had for sale which used a Toyota steering box in the original location.
He said that he purchased it as a kit from a major Chevy Truck parts
supplier so I'd probably start looking at Brothers trucks, Chevy Duty,
American Classic etc.

I think your other option would be to install a mid 60's P.U. power steering
set up that uses the power ram attached to the center link for power assist
which would solve your left hand turning problem and eliminate the cutting
of the Napco parts.

I had this guy wanting to trade me some work for that complete setup a while
back. He also made one off of parts from a F*#@ that mounted to the drag
link which would work perfectly for you. If you interested I can contact
him and maybe have him describe the modification and the parts required.

Remember that you can also cut down the column if you plan to reuse it and
install the lower bearing support into the column and use just one Borgeson
u-joint for the connection of the box and column. I never had the bearing #
before as I just walked into the lawn mower shop and as for a bearing the
would accept the inner steering shaft and the column shaft diameter. Jack
Halton looked it up a while back and the # is 6203-RS. He purchased his
support bearing from a local bearing supply house for $5.52.

I can't wait to see that body on the frame. Not the same as seeing it in
person and having to look up at it to admire all the work but a picture over
the internet won't hurt.

Joe
