I upgraded my 57 to electric wipers 10 years ago.
Best change I ever made to my truck, however once
I could see out in the rain I decided I needed to
update the brakes to disks. I guess it is a never
ending process.

> found out that the wipers in my 55 2nd series truck are electric two
speed. I was very suprised as I was expecting vacuum. Is this out of the
ordinary? Its the small back window, no chrome model. I don't know why
but I sure am happy. Deacon Magill<

I've also got a 55-2nd and have the two speed elec. wipers. My only problem

is the spring loaded clip that holds the metal arms to the moter. Whenever I

have the wiper on for about five minutes the clip pops off and my drivers
side wiper quits working. I keep a squeegee under the seat. I put a 2'
handle
on it. Looks pretty rediculous when I'm at a signal squeeging the winshield
from the driver's window. It seems that every car I've owned, the drivers
wiper is always the bad one. Rain-X is a life saver.
