Ah, yes. I'm not sure as to the exact years but as
far as I know their where know chrome during the
Korean War. Think 50 is before the war, thought the
was started during 51 or 52, but I may be mistaken.
You are right about them being painted. The grilles
where painted to the best of my knowledge (which is
limited). I just thought you wanted to know whether
your grill was chrome or s/s. Thought that one of the
previous owners might have chromed it at a later time.
My 53 has a chrome grille, although I'm pretty sure
one of the previous owners had it chromed. The chrome
grille does seem to look a whole lot nicer than the
painted one, in my opinion...
