The early (50-57) powerglides used the p-n-d-l-r pattern, starting in 58
they went to p-r-n-d-l like normal trannys. However, I really doubt
there's an aftermarket floor shifter available for the iron powerglide!
they are really wierd trannys compared to the TH350, etc. The shift
pattern would be the least of your worries, mounting the shifter would
be a problem, as well as attatching the linkage. The Lokar type
shifters are designed to fit each particulart tranny, and are not
interchangable (for example, the TH350 shifter will not fit a 700 or 400
tranny at all)

You may have to make a shifter...or use a column shifter, from an early
50s Chevy car that came with a powerglide.
