Many thanks for the responses I got both on & off-list with information on
my newly acquired '51 3100. To answer some of the questions I got:
The tranny is a standard three-on-the-tree.
The odometer shows 30,000 miles, but it appears to be the only thing so far
that isn't working. Speedometer works, but half the needle is broken off.
I've never had to fix the inside of a speedometer.
The truck now resides in Gainesville, FL.
What is the consensus on unleaded gas for this thing? I've run unleaded in
my '72 for years with no problems with the attitude that if the valves burn
I'll just fix it. This guy deserves better care. Is there a recommended
additive?
