Careful Rock. Don't forget, us "more elderly" gents will be waiting for you
in the great GMC parking lot in the sky. When I was in high school in the mid
50's in Oregon, one of our neighbors was a construction superintendent for a
large Portland Oregon construction co. (Merl). One of his supervisors lived
just down the street.(Jack) He had a beautiful 1950 red GMC pick-up with a
smitty's muffler. It also had a couple of bullet holes in the front fenders.
It seems the two of them had a few after work beers one Friday afternoon. Then
Jack went home and had a few more. The Superintendent had a few more at his
home. At abt 1 AM, Jack thought that he should take his old buddy another
beer. So he jumped into his GMC and went charging up the hill to his boss's
house. Merl, in a rather misty haze, thought someone was going to crash into
his house, so he grabbed his (unwisely) loaded deer rifle and let off a
couple of rounds. Jack stopped immediately, threw the GMC into reverse, and
went flying home. Jack told me that he decided against having the bullet holes
in the front fenders repaired, because they were a great reminder of how
stupid he became when he got carried away drinking. The moral? Make sure your
drinking buddy doesn't keep a loaded gun around!!! Bob K in PHX, AZ
