In Minnesota, they put a dye in home heating oil.  It stains the 
inside of the tank.  This is to detect people using non-taxed heating 
oil in diesels.  Fuel oil around here in NE Minnesota is around 1.
30 per gallon, Diesel is around 1.529 (winter mix), and gasoline 
is 1.459

A new Chevy crew cab 3/4 ton with a mid level trim package, Allison 
Tranny and Duramax Diesel lists for around $40,000US.
